Physical Vapour Deposition at Home
This is my most recent project, and right now in the very early stages of development. I will post major updates here and also add blogs for general activities as I go along.
Plan/Roadmap
The main outline for this project is shown on the right as a flow chart. All Major milestones are shown in grey, and each has smaller sub-tasks broken out.
Achieve Vacuum
This is a huge step towards this project, as achieving a good vacuum is critical for the PVD process to work. The vacuum setup is needed for two key reasons:
- To allow the VFD to function correctly, see this tutorial on VFD Operation.
- For the Physical Vapour Deposition process to occur, which we will be using to deposit thin aluminium films for the VFD's electrical contacts.
